*New this year* Teachers and students unite for a beautiful community class!  

We are starting Yoga Day a little differently this year.  In addition to our opening ceremony, we are offering a community class.   Teachers and students alike, are welcome to breath, move and support one another in an all levels class taught by Lynn Meadow.  

Lynn Medow ERYT 500 is a compassionate teacher who supports people on their journey to healing and wholeness. Lynn is the owner of Yoga by Design, has produced the DVD Yoga for Graceful Aging and appears in the book, Like Stanzas in the Poem/Yoga at the Wall by Nancy McCaochan. Her pioneering approach to individualizing group teaching and yoga therapeutics has earned her a reputation as being the "go-to" person for healing through yoga. Lynn is also the impetus behind the Yoga by Design Foundation, a non-profit 501c3 organization which funds yoga programs for under-served populations.

Lisa Fellhauer:  Yoga In A Chair
  Chair Yoga is a gentle class that is accessible to everyone.  It is perfect for people who are less flexible, or have some physical limitations.  It allows people to experience the benefits of yoga ~ balance, flexibility, and strength ~ without practicing the "deep" version.
Lisa teachers a gentle/chair yoga class at St. Joseph Sylvania on Thursdays from 1:30PM to 2:30PM.


Intermediate Track ~ 1:30PM-2:15PM

Sandy Earl:  Develop Your Own Personal Practice

Establishing an independent home practice is a rite of passage for yoga practitioners. It's the point at which you really learn to move at your own pace, listen and respond to your body, and develop greater consistency and frequency in your yoga practice. But just where do you start?  Come learn the basics of setting up a home space and finding the tools to help you start and develop a consistent home practice.  Part discussion and part physical practice.

Kim Collins:  Gentle Hip Openers for Healthy Happy Hips

Our hips occupy a space in the body that mediates between the legs and the upper body. Often tension, fascial hardness, stress and unresolved emotional issues reside here. As the hips go, so does the rest of the body. Release of this “stuckness”in the hips opens energy and fascial lines bringing freedom and fluidity of movement to the whole body and a sense of overall wellness.

Have fun with me in this class as you learn to gently and without force open the deep muscles of the hips. You will learn your body’s language as it tells you how deeply you can move into a posture and how long to stay there. Hip openers are most beneficial when done with awareness, ease and a sense of playfulness.

Malissa Whited:  Who Do You Love?  

The heart center is associated with compassion, forgiveness and unconditional love.  Join Malissa for a fun,  heart-opening Yoga flow to open up the space of the Anahata Chakra.   Sequence will build up to some playful backbends, including variations of Ustrasana (Camel).

Longing for Stillness 101...simple poses, breathing practices and a guided meditation to help you let go of the "to do list", sleep better, feel more empowered to make healthy choices and foster balance.  Enhanced by "Peace and Calming" Essential Oil.

Intermediate Track  ~ 3:30PM to 4:15PM

Cheryl Bobo-Wallace: Intermediate Yoga.  

Intermediate Yoga is for individuals who have prior yoga experience. This class will utilize standing poses as the foundation to build more challenging yoga poses such as inversions and back bends. This class is excellent for someone looking to deepen their knowledge of yoga and awareness in the poses.
